Omarthrosis
What Is Omarthrosis?
Omarthrosis refers to wear and tear of the shoulder joint. If the disease is ignored, it will result in the shoulder joint stiffening in the long term, also known as a frozen shoulder. The diagnosis is made in radiology using X-rays. Helpful additional information can be provided by ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging, which show the extent of degenerative changes in more detail.

What to do if you have osteoarthritis of your shoulder?
Specialists who treat shoulders will usually begin with conservative therapy, which may include the following measures:
- ACP therapy: Thanks to the body's own bioactive agents such as blood platelets and growth factors, ACP promotes cell regeneration in cases of mild to moderate osteoarthritis (stages I to III); the treatment also relieves pain in a natural way and improves mobility in cases of omarthrosis
- Prevention: Exercise is good, but overexertion is bad!
- Physical therapies (cold, heat, electrical and ultra sound treatment): reduce pain, stop inflammation, improve joint metabolism
- Physical therapy: minimizes pain, slows the progression of osteoarthritis
- Medications: Analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and cortisone products
If patients do not experience an improvement in their quality of life despite conservative treatment, surgical treatment options may be considered. One possible surgical treatment is shoulder replacement.

Is There a Cure for Shoulder Osteoarthritis?
Since osteoarthritis is generally incurable, it is important to prevent the progression of omarthrosis. This can be achieved through conservative treatment as well as surgery. ACP therapy can be used to help with this process and regenerate the affected shoulder joint without side effects.
